Road Trip to Boat

Day one started well with a FULLY packed car and we did well until we passed into Missouri and soon found out that EV charging stations were in short supply. There were lots of stations listed but many did not work. It was a very frustrating and HOT (100Fs) day. Luckily a Chevy dealer came through with a free and fast charger. There was a moment at a charger where I screamed a bad words next to a gas station and Josephine laughed for a long time. We found a hotel with a wall charger, it was slow but we got a full charge while we slept the night away.

Meanwhile Nate was having lunch in Annapolis with Tricia, Jim (and friends) at what became a favorite Annapolis restaurant Dave’s Pub (they even have a dog menu). On the west coast Addy was getting aquatinted with the crew ergs which have a great view.

Day two proved slightly better in making more miles to Indiana as we soon figured out that Electrify America chargers at most Walmarts almost always work. The PlugShare app also have reviews and I found would often find recent reviews which would indicate if a charger had been in working order in recent days. My comfort level was not to let the charge get below 100 miles. We made it to Indiana for the night and Queso made us laugh as he jumped on the hotel beds.

Day three had to bed in Pennsylvania after more miles, lots of Zac Bryan music and my audio book “An Hour Before Daylight: a Memoir of Boyhood” by Jimmy Carter.

Meanwhile Addy was find her groove with the crew team:

And Queso’s new tag arrived:

Day four was our final day on the road. We were ready to get out of the car and onto the boat. We stopped at Monocacy National Battlefield (civil war) where we took a nice walk before the rains hit. Our mission to see all 50 states on license plates was almost accomplished. Our new home was ready for us and we were especially eager to see how Queso adjusted to boat life.
