Goodbyes - Part III
We landed in OKC with fragile hearts after leaving Addy at Cal Poly Humboldt. As we pulled into our gate, Tricia literally passed us on her plane flying home to Austin. Wish I could have hugged her, but so glad Jo got to spend special time with her.
We were happy to be back with Josephine and wrap up the last week in OKC.
Josephine had her last rides on Jagger who we had leased since the passing of beloved Vogue in the beginning of 2024. Another dressage rider who trains at our barn learned about Vogue’s passing and shared Jagger with us. He did so much to heal Josephine’s heart.
Trainer Diane organized a barn gathering to send Josephine off. We are lucky to have found Lightening L Ranch which has become a happy place for Josephine to ride, have friendships, work and further her equine knowledge. Cookies made by Josephine and friend Jennifer Terry.
I tried to fit in lots of friend time before we left as well. I met Juliette through Addy's friendship with Sydney.
Meanwhile we were getting happy texts and calls from Addy at Humboldt. I am so thankful she was able to make friends right away through the rowing team and her dorm.
Queso continued to be naughty and keep us laughing. Josephine’s pants were beyond repair.
We finalized our packing and quickly discovered we had too much to fit in the little Chevy Bolt. Barbara came and took lots of donations plus all the good food that I didn’t to just throw away. Laura is keeping our bike and also got lots of goodies/food that could not fit. Thankful for friends!
