Goodbyes Part I

Nate and I returned to Oklahoma City just in time to celebrate the 4th of July at Brockton Ballpark where we watched the OKC Dodgers play Las Vegas. The game ended with fireworks.

We finished packing up the house and squeezed the last of our belongings into the storage unit.

The next step was to move into our rental for the remainder of the summer. We found a great location near Crown Heights that allowed dogs. It was adventure only having one bathroom for everyone to share! Mostly we enjoyed exploring a new neighborhood and being able to walk to the post office and restaurants.

Once we were settled into our rental Nate flew back to the boat to begin a long list of boat projects. He was able to install solar panels (flexible cigs)which are made to withstand standing on! As of October 23rd, they have held up great though we would like to add more. We have two 100w panels and two 200w panels currently.

Next Nate updated all our batteries and power management system. We have a Victron lynxs managed BMS system with two battery banks run in parallel for a total of 1200 amp hours of battery. All the data on this system can be viewed remotely and allows us to stay on anchor for three to four days even if we don’t get any sun.

While Nate was sweating away on the boat, truthfully he LOVES problem solving system installs, all the Toll ladies were busy in the OKC.

Addy was busy training for the Canadian Henley and hanging out with friends such as Sofia.

Knowing Addy was leaving soon for college. I said YES to as much fun as possible, such as pickle ball at Chicken n Pickle.

Addy and I volunteered together as stake holders at the US Rowing Rowfest on the OKC course. We had to lay on a yoga mat on the start platform and hold the bow of each boat until the horn/whistle blows to start the race.

Josephine continued to ride Jagger daily and work at Lightening L Ranch. This has been such a magical barn for Josephine to improve her dressage and gain responsibility working at a busy horse farm. She learned to handle foals, drive a hay truck, work in very hot conditions for multiple hours and be a team with other employees from various walks of life.

Nate was able to take a break so we could drive from Annapolis to St Catherine Canada and watch Addy race with her OKC team. The location was ideal for rowing and the town perfect for summer visit. Rowing is a beautiful sport to spectate. Addy committed a huge chunk of her summer to compete and was excited to row at her first international regatta. Nate enjoyed Tim Horton's coffee daily. I made sure to take a tour at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site.
