Nate (49)
Our Skipper is happiest when the sails are up and the engine is off. He is a techno geek but appreciates the old school ways of sailing. Nate was formerly a hydrogeologist for 20 years working for Sandia National Labs, Rio Tinto and Southwest Research before deciding he wanted more time with his family. He went back to school and became a certified science teacher. For the past five years he has been teaching high school physics in Oklahoma. Nate has a passion for open water swimming where he has crossed the Tampa bay and swum from Alcatraz to San Francisco annually for five years (minus 2020). Nate can fix most problems and if stumped he enjoys the process of problem solving.
